WANTED: New York State Offers $100,000 Reward for Escaped Prisoners

The state of New York put up a $100,000 reward on Sunday for anyone who has information that leads to the capture and arrest of the two convicted killers who escaped from an update maximum security prison.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called the $50,000-per-prisoner reward unusual but "appropriate," adding, "These are dangerous men" who are "capable of committing grave crimes once again."

With the aid of power tools, Richard Matt and David Sweat escaped Saturday morning from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, located approximately 20 miles south of Canada.

The 34-year-old Sweat is severing a life sentence for the 2002 killing of a sheriff's deputy. The 48-year-old Matt is severing 25 years to life for the 1997 kidnapping and killing of a man. (ABC News)

Say What:

How is it that no one heard the men using power tools at the prison?

This sounds like a great plot for a movie.

Sounds like they watched "Shawshank Redemption"

This is the first escape from that prison since 1865 and Cuomo said, "I want to make sure that it's the last."
