FORT HOOD SHOOTER MAY HAVE 9/11 CONNECTION

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who killed 13 soldiers and injured 39 at Fort Hood in Texas last week, attended a Virginia mosque at the same time as two 9-11 hijackers. Though the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia is a spiritual center for thousands of Muslims, the F-B-I says it plans to investigate whether Hasan had any direct contact with Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour. Those two were aboard American Airlines flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon. Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut says a Senate investigation is in the works, too.
Army Chief of Staff George Casey is asking the country not to become too caught up in Hasan's Muslim faith and has instructed his commanders to be on the lookout for any anti-Muslim backlash.

IDA EYES U.S.

After killing at least 91 people in El Salvador, Hurricane Ida has emerged in the Gulf of Mexico and is threatening the Gulf Coast of the United States. Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal declared a state of emergency on Sunday, and though some weakening is expected, Ida could strike eastern Louisiana, Mississippi or the Florida panhandle as a category one storm. Hurricane warnings are up, and New Orleans is under a tropical storm watch.

HOUSE PASSES HEALTHCARE

The House of Representatives passed its version of the healthcare-reform bill Saturday night. The vote was 220 to 215, with 30 Democrats opposing and one Republican supporting the bill. Next up, the Senate takes the baton. If it passes a bill, the two houses will have to merge the proposals into one law, which both chambers will have to O-K before President Obama can sign it.
Blog Topic: Regardless of where you stand on the issue, do you think the two houses are capable of passing a compromise, or will healthcare reform die on Capitol Hill?

Celeb News:
TAYLOR ZINGS KANYE, JOE JONAS ON SNL

Country star Taylor Swift got zingers in on Kanye West and former boyfriend Joe Jonas during a "musical monologue" at the opening of N-B-C's Saturday Night Live. With an acoustic guitar, she sang about the things she wasn't going to talk about in her monologue. For example -- "You might think I'd bring up Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone." And about America's favorite speech interrupter, she quipped, "There's nothing more to say, 'cause everything's O-K -- I've got security lining the stage."

Allen Iverson considers retirement

Allen Iverson may retire from the NBA without ever having played a home game for the Grizzlies.

Looks like all the talk about personal issues with (for now) Grizzlies guard Allen Iverson was correct, if not about family. The "Commercial Appeal” this morning quotes a source close to Iverson saying he is considering retirement from the NBA, since it looks like he will be relegated to the bench with the Grizzlies. If true, and if Iverson follows through, majority owner Michael Heisley’s gamble that he can sell tickets to see Iverson play on an otherwise weak team will have fallen flat, and brought new waves of criticism to the struggling franchise.

Based on Iverson’s history, this should not really be a surprise. He fell out with the Detroit Pistons last year when they wanted him to play off the bench. At the time, A. I. said he would rather retire than play as a reserve. It appears he may soon make good on that statement.

Today the Role of DMX Will be Played by Coolio

Coolio

DMX couldn't come to terms with the people putting on a celeb boxing match next month -- meaning they wouldn't fix it so he would win -- so X is out and Coolio is in.
Thunder Productions tells TMZ they have signed Coolio to the upcoming celebrity boxing match scheduled to take place in Alabama next month. They tell us Coolio has been much easier to deal with and "he is going to take this seriously." X had previously agreed to the bout, but only on the condition he was guaranteed to win.

9-11 was an inside job. To say this guy had connection is a farce to scare people and create hatred among people.
