11-10: Michael Vick Looking To Move On/Who's Holding Up The H1N1 Vaccine?/Toni Braxton Looking "COUGAR-riffic"/Loaded Gun Found At Whites Creek/Hot Ghetto Mess This Week

"Loaded Gun Found At Metro High School, Student Arrested"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - At Whites Creek High School, police arrested a student with a loaded gun. Metro police said the pistol had a trigger-lock on it, and the student did not have a key for it.
The 17-year-old senior told police he took the pistol from his parents' bedroom and carried it to school because he felt threatened.
School Resource officers at Whites Creek arrested him after another student tipped them off.
Officials charged the teenager in juvenile court with unlawfully carrying a gun on school property.~source:

"More H1N1 Vaccines Available In Metro Tuesday"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metro health department once again received more H1N1 injectable vaccines and will give them out Tuesday.
The health department said 1,300 doses will be available Tuesday on a first come, first serve basis for high risk patients.
The flu-mist nasal spray will be available to non-high risk patients ages 2 to 49 with no underlying health problems.
The shot and the mist will be free Tuesday at the walk in clinic at the Lentz Public Health Center. The clinic will be open from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. or until supplies run out.~source:

"Joseph Jackson, Courtney Logan In Court For Officer Shooting"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The two men accused of critically injuring a Metro police officer during a traffic stop have been scheduled to answer to the charges in court Tuesday.
Joseph Jackson and Courtney Logan will be arraigned Tuesday on attempted first degree murder charges.
Police said Jackson, an escaped inmate from Mississippi, shot Sgt. Mark Chesnut several times in June 2009 while the officer was sitting in his patrol car on Interstate 40 near Bellevue. Chestnut had just stopped the pair for a seatbelt violation.
Chesnut has since returned to work following his recovery.
Chesnut also filed a $14 million lawsuit against the Corrections Corporation of America, claiming they are responsible for his injuries because Jackson escaped from custody under the supervision of their guards at a doctor's appointment.~source:

"DC SNIPER SET TO DIE TODAY"

*Convicted Washington D-C sniper John Allen Muhammad is scheduled to be executed tonight. The Supreme Court rejected his plea for a stay yesterday, which leaves Virginia governor Tim Kaine the only person who can stop him from being put to death today. The convicted murderer's lawyer was predictably disappointed in the Supreme Court's decision, saying, "In its effort to race John Allen Muhammad to his death before his appeals could be pursued, the state of Virginia will execute a severely mentally ill man who also suffered from Gulf War Syndrome the day before Veterans Day."

"FORT HOOD ROUNDUP"

*The Fort Hood policewoman who fired at Major Nidal Malik Hasan and was herself shot three times has issued a statement. The 34-year-old mother of two is still hospitalized, recovering after two surgeries for her injuries. It reads, in part, "Kimberly Munley and family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for all of the thoughts and concerns surrounding Kim from around the nation. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the tragedy on Fort Hood."
*Retired Army colonel John P. Galligan has been retained by Hasan's family to defend him against charges that he murdered thirteen people and injured dozens more.
*It was revealed yesterday that U-S intelligence agencies knew Hasan had been in regular communication with an anti-American Arab religious leader and did nothing about it. The cleric, Anwar al-Awlaki, yesterday wrote about Hasan on his website, calling him "a hero" for the attack. The shocking article on
www.anwar-alawlaki.comsays, "The fact that fighting against the U-S army is an Islamic duty today cannot be disputed."

"WHO'S HOLDING UP THE VACCINE?"

*A new poll finds that Americans believe -- in almost equal numbers -- that the shortage of vaccine to prevent the H1N1 virus is the fault of drug companies and the federal government. The survey, by U-S-A Today, indicated nothing about the source of such opinions, or what percentage of the respondents still fear the vaccine. It did find that only five percent had been innoculated. Still, 58 percent of respondents placed a great deal or moderate amount of the blame for the lack of vaccine on the federal government and 62 percent blame drug companies.

"911 Call -- Katt Williams Won't Let Me Leave"

*TMZ has obtained a 911 call made last week when a 17-year-old kid told authorities that Katt Williams was holding him against his will at a Georgia residence.
The call was made around 9 PM on November 3 from a house in Coweta County. The caller says he had a car waiting to take him to the airport -- but Katt "wouldn't let our ride take us there" and "threatened to beat me up." The caller says he's not sure if Katt is armed with a weapon.
We're told police showed up after the call and no arrests were made -- but it is still under investigation.
As we first reported, Katt's lawyer said the comedian's arrest for burglary this morning is total bull -- blaming it on a dispute Katt was having with an employee who lives in the Coweta County guesthouse where he's been staying.

"Cougar-ific"

*Toni Braxton is still looking as good as a 2-piece with dirty rice. In her new video "Yesterday”, Toni’s got her claws on some young meat, well young for the 43 year-old banger. The video is coming soon, but we have a gang of photos. Pop the Top to See her Spread All Over Athletes Like Ron Artest Peep the track: Love it or Hate it???

"Rihanna's Diane Sawyer interview, part 1: Pain, shame, hard lessons"
by Simon Vozick-Levinson

*The first part of Rihanna’s vaunted interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer just aired on Good Morning America. It was only a five-minute clip — a teaser for the real interview that’s coming tomorrow night on 20/20 – but already the singer has said more than she did in the nine months following ex Chris Brown’s violent attack on her.
GMA cherrypicked some gripping excerpts for this interview trailer. The part that everyone will be talking about came when Rihanna acknowledged getting back together with Brown in the weeks after he assaulted her. "It’s pretty natural for that to be the first reaction,” she told Sawyer. "The moment the physical wounds go away, you want the memories to go away.” Love, she said, had blinded her at the time. Given how many victims of domestic violence do go back to their abusers, it’s important for the public to hear an explanation of that toxic thought process.
Rihanna told Sawyer that she eventually ended things with Brown after thinking about the example she was setting for fans in abusive relationships of their own. "When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that.” She said she became ashamed that she had ever been with someone who was capable of what Brown did to her: "I fell in love with that person. That’s embarassing.”

"Bills' Whitner: 'I would welcome bringing in Michael Vick"

*ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — If Tony Dungy believes Michael Vick (FSY) would be a good fit in Buffalo, Donte Whitner (FSY) is on board.
Confident Vick can regain his once-dynamic form, the Bills safety said Monday he would encourage his team to pursue Vick if the Eagles — who hold a $5.2 million option on the backup quarterback next season — decide to release Vick in the offseason.
In noting he was a proponent of the Bills pursuing Vick since before he signed with Philadelphia in August, Whitner said he's more convinced Buffalo can use him next season. Without specifically naming Bills starter Trent Edwards (FSY) or backup Ryan Fitzpatrick (FSY), Whitner noted that players — himself included — are replaceable if they can't get the job done.
"If you're not getting the job done, then they're going to bring in other players. It's a competition thing," Whitner said. "You bring in other guys that can get the job done that can help you win. I would welcome bringing in Michael Vick."
The Bills (3-5), whose offense ranks among the NFL's worst this season, returned to practice Monday after a four-day break during their bye, and prepare to play at Tennessee this weekend.
Whitner's comment came a day after Dungy linked Vick and the Bills during NBC's NFL pre-game show. Dungy, the former Colts coach who serves as Vick's adviser, referred to Buffalo as "a dark horse" candidate to land the quarterback if he becomes available.

Here's an idea Kenny...in your blogs you should put at least one article in (per day) about positive black males. I'm reading about Joseph Jackson/Courtney Logan (shooting a cop), John Allan Muhammed (DC Sniper), Katt Williams (Burglary), Michael Vick (Dog fighting), Chris Brown (Assault), and I'm not positive but quite sure that the student @ White's Creek was a black male (as WC is a predominately black school where I sub teach quite often). There are more than enough media outlets that drag the black man down...we need one that at least lifts them up simultaneously. I'm not saying don't report the news (because I do love your site) I'm just saying you have a platform to balance it out and show us in a different light. Even if it's just spotlighting local barbershop owners or comcast workers. But black men that are positive and who help build up their community instead of contributing to its demise.
