"Russell Simmons vs Bill Cosby on the state of Hip Hop"

Russell Simmons was a king ...Bill Cosby Is Dropping A Hip ...

Russell Simmons has grown tired of Bill Cosby's attacks on hip-hop. He writes on his GlobalGrind.com, "Bill Cosby is an example of someone from the older generation who has consistently blamed the poets and asked suffering community members to bare the full burden of guilt for the struggles that they endure... What they don't understand is that the young people who they criticize did not create their own realities. They did not create the crumbling education system that we school them in. They did not create the drug epidemic and drug wars that have resulted in a dysfunctional family structure. They did not create the healthcare crisis that does not treat them. They did not create the culture of violence that they fall victim to."

Cosby recently released his own rap project, Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency

"Beyonce in Vegas"

Beyonce could be sitting pretty if a deal that her father/manager Mathew Knowles is rumored to be putting together is actually true. Reports say papa Knowles is negotiating a residency for her at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas that would bring her 500-million dollars over a five-year period. With her signature dance moves and myriad of costumes, Beyonce could easily work the Vegas crowd. A rep for the singer tells us she has "no information" but did not confirm or deny the deal.

"JAY-Z: I Really Love New York"

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys had so much fun doing "Empire State of Mind" they've re-visited it with "Empire State of Mind Part Two." The new track will be featured on Keys' new disc, The Element of Freedom, due December 15th.

Hova says "Empire" reflects his deep love for his home city. He tells Gotham magazine, "New York is alive, real people, it never shuts down, the honesty of it, the variety of it. It makes you look forward to every single season. When it gets too hot, you look forward to fall. When it's fall, you look forward to seeing the snow. It's just the most beautiful place in the world to me."

Jay-Z's Blueprint Three tour plays Fresno, California tomorrow night (Saturday).

Russell Simmons makes a good point that they didn't create it...but they sure do glorify it and capitalize on it.
