11-05: Suit Against Mcnair Dropped/Are You A Facebook Bug-A-Boo?/Carlos Branch...Metro Looking For You Dawg?/Kim Kardashian literally gets her ASS KICKED/Slick Racism Video - You Decide?

APARTMENT OWNER'S CLAIM AGAINST STEVE MCNAIR DROPPED!!

A West End condo complex has dropped its claim against the estate of Steve McNair, deciding instead to focus on the lease holder of the condo.

McNair was a cosigner on the lease of a condo on Parthenon Avenue for his cousin Raymond White, although a 26-year-old woman named Adrianne Hobbs was the actual resident. Gianikas Property Management filed a claim against McNair’s estate for about $1,500 in back rent and property damages, and his estate contested the charge.

"Because the amount is just $1,500 quite frankly my client has decided the money would be better spent going after the primary obligor, Raymond White,” said attorney Gary Rubenstein.

Clerical Error Gives Convicted Felon Cheaper Bond

A dangerous, convicted felon was handed a cheaper get out of jail pass. A clerical error in the courts is what set him free. Carlos Branch was charged in a murder four years ago. The murder suspect walked out of the Davidson County Jail, roughly a month ago, after posting a $50,000 bond. The figure should have read $150,000, by all accounts.

"Unfortunately, it would appear in this case that a very dangerous felon is the benefit of a clerical snafu. We would have preferred that he remain in jail until his trial for this murder count," said Don Aaron, Metro Nashville Police Department spokesperson. The murder charge stems from a 2005 homicide. That same year Branch helped shoot-up a Vanderbilt dormitory party. He earned an aggravated assault conviction for hitting and wounding a Vandy football player.

"Carlos Branch is a person this police department, and the Nashville community, does not want on the streets," Aaron said.

Branch also has other convictions that include having a gun on school property, assault with bodily injury, driving on a suspended and trespassing. Even with the latest get out of jail pass, Branch has been unable to stay out of trouble. Metro police arrested him last Friday for felony marijuana, and for having a rifle behind his bed. Branch isn't supposed to have a weapon, but still he was able to bond-out two days later. The district attorney's office wants him back behind bars. They filed for a bond revocation hearing on Monday.

"Anybody seeing Branch should be fearful of him, and should contact this police department immediately," Aaron said.

GAY FOLKS MAD AT OBAMA

SAN FRANCISCO — Stunned and angry, national gay rights leaders Wednesday blamed scare-mongering ads — and President Barack Obama's lack of engagement — for a bitter election setback in Maine that could alter the dynamics for both sides in the gay-marriage debate.

Conservatives, in contrast, celebrated Maine voters' rejection of a law that would have allowed gay couples to wed, depicting it as a warning shot that should deter politicians in other states from pushing for same-sex marriage.

"Every time the citizens have voted on marriage, they have always sided with natural marriage," said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, a Florida-based Christian legal group. "Maine dramatically illustrates the will of the people."

SOCIAL NETWORKING: Facebook Photos That Will Get You De-Friended

Your Facebook profile photo says a lot about you -- unfortunately, it may be saying stuff about you that you don't necessarily want.

Here are 5 types of Facebook profile photos that most people are sick of seeing. Are you guilty of any of them?

1. The "emo" shot -- the black-and-white close-up of your face.

2. The "headshot" -- this looks more like your submission to a modeling agency.

3. The "childhood" photo -- showing everybody what you use to look like 20 years ago.

4. The photo of your baby -- a bad idea because old friends and acquaintances want to see what YOU look like.

5. The "couple kissing shot" -- this one shows the world that you have a significant other that's willing to lock lips with you.

ARE YOU GUILTY??

HOFF HITTING THE SAUCE AGAIN

TMZ.com is reporting that David Hasselhoff is back to his old tipsy tricks.

According to TMZ, the Hoff had a few too many while on a trip to British Columbia, Canada, over the weekend, causing him to get kicked out of a casino.

Witnesses told the web site that Hasselhoff got into an altercation with a fellow patron at the Cascade Casino. The Hoff was escorted out by security -- and allegedly seen drinking again several hours later.

Hasselhoff's reps have yet to comment.

KIM K GETS K-O'ED

Kim Kardashian got her copious butt kicked in a celebrity boxing match on Tuesday night -- and earned a black eye in the process!

Kim got smacked in the kisser by a fan who was the highest bidder in an auction benefiting the Dream Foundation -- just hours after her little bro Rob got a concussion in an earlier match.

Writing on her blog, Kim said, "At the end of the day, we did this for charity and that's what counts. You can try to bring the Kardashians down ... but we're a strong family. A concussion and a black eye can't hold us down!"

"LAVERNE" BATTLING BRAIN TUMOR

Actress/director Penny Marshall, best known for playing "Laverne" on Laverne and Shirley, underwent emergency surgery in New York City over the weekend after a tumor was found in her brain.

Penny fell ill on a plane ride from the west coast to her New York home and went to the doctor for a check-up. A friend of hers tells the National Enquirer, "She was vomiting and thought it might be the flu, but she got the shock of her life when the doctors told her she had a tumor on both her brain and her liver.

"Doctors told her they needed to schedule her for surgery and that they'd need to take a biopsy to determine if she had cancer."

In an important step to change its reputation as the site of a 1969 race riot that left two dead, York, Pennsylvania elected its first black mayor this week. PALIN TOUR SET

Sarah Palin will kick off a book tour for Going Rogue on November 18th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She's also lined up appearances in Noblesville, Indiana; Cincinnati, Ohio; Roanoke, Virginia; and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Going Rogue hits stores on Tuesday, November 17th. That Monday, Palin will appear on Oprah to promote it.

Palin isn't the first failed vice-presidential candidate to write a book:

* John Edwards, a senator from North Carolina who had not yet run with John Kerry, wrote about his courtroom experiences in Four Trials.

* Joe Lieberman, Al Gore's 2000 running mate, has written two books -- In Praise of Public Life and An Amazing Adventure: Joe and Hadassah's Personal Notes on the 2000 Campaign.

* Jack Kemp -- who ran with Bob Dole in 1996 -- edited The I-R-S vs. The People in 2005. In the 1980s, he wrote American Renaissance.

* And the first female V-P candidate, Geraldine Ferraro, put out the memoir Ferraro: My Story just a few years ago.
