MURDER ON 14TH AVENUE NORTH
Metro police have been investigating a deadly late-night shooting. Police said the victim is a 28-year-old man. The victim was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home on 14th Avenue North. Police said the 28-year-old did not live in the home, but he was staying there with his girlfriend.
Investigators said they believe the man was specifically targeted.
Crip Leader Attempts Escape From Metro Jail...In A Helicopter
Jamal Shakir was the leader of a notorious street gang called the Rolling 90's Crips. He is in the Metro jail facing life in prison. He was convicted of committing or orchestrating nine murders in the 1990s. Court documents showed he was trying to re-organize and run his gang from the Metro jail. He sent letters ordering murders, fire bombings and drug related robberies.
In one of the letters, he asked Christopher Conyers to get information on a Nashville flight school and on privately owned helicopters that they could steal by force.
Prosecutors have charged a woman with whom Shakir talked on the phone. They said she helped research helicopters. Faith Readus was in court Thursday. Christopher Conyers has been arrested and is in jail on weapons charges. In one of the letters, Shakir discussed a murder scheduled for later this month on Halloween night. He told the attackers what disguise to wear, and to make the scene appear as a robbery gone bad.
Gucci Mane Not Welcomed at North Carolina A&M
Student opposition has put Gucci Mane's scheduled concert appearance at North Carolina A-&-T at risk. The rapper is set to play a show along with Fabolous, Trey Songz, Keri Hilson and O-J Da Juiceman on Halloween but students say his lyrics and alleged gang ties could reflect negatively on their school. Chancellor Harold Martin says they're looking into replacing Gucci, but also tells Greensboro's News and Record, "This is frankly exactly the kind of intellectual debate we should be having at this university. It's important, and it raises the intellectual climate when we ask these difficult questions about our community."
P Diddy Is Looking To Try Monogamy
Sean "Diddy" Combs isn't known for monogamy, but perhaps he's flirting with the idea. He tells Black Book magazine, "I guess the things that used to thrill me don't thrill me so much anymore. Intimacy is more important to me than sleeping with hot chicks. I don't even know if I really savored every menage a trois I had. I don't want to do it all over again, but if I have any more, I'll take extra time."
Diddy is defending his vocals on his forthcoming disc Last Train to Paris. He says, "I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best singer in the world. But singing lends itself to being as vulnerable as possible. It's more about expressing the way my soul sounds." Last Train to Paris is due November 24th.
Don't you think Diddy's Hit making days are OVER? It was a good run dawg...
NO HARM MEANT IN FACEBOOK OBAMA POLL
The Secret Service has concluded that the Facebook poll asking, "Should Obama be killed" wasn't intended to harm the president. After determining that a juvenile was behind the online survey and talking with his parents, officials say no charges will be filed. Agency spokesman Edwin Donovan tells the Associated Press, "Case closed. I guess you could characterize it as a mistake."
LETTERMAN SEX SCANDAL
David Letterman confessed yesterday to his studio audience that he was the victim of an attempted extortion scheme, and it forced him to disclose that he had sex with several of his female staffers. During his Late Show taping yesterday, Letterman said, "This morning, I did something I've never done in my life. I had to go downtown and testify before a grand jury." The con artist sent a package to the funnyman and told him that if he didn't cough up two-million bucks, the information about Dave's dalliances would be released to the media. Letterman teamed up with New York police, who nabbed the extortionist. There's been no time span regarding Letterman's conduct with his female staffers. He's been with wife Regina Lasko since 1986, when they began dating. The pair, who finally married in March, have a five-year-old son Harry.
Kenny Smoov's - Four Worst Places To Break Up
You hate to have to do it. But it's time. So as you plan what you're going to say, when you're going to do it, and how to do it most gracefully,
don't ignore an important part of the break-up equation: where you're gonna
do it.
According to eHarmony.com, here are the four worst places to break up, and why:
#1: Your place -- THE worst place to break up with someone.
First, it's completely private, which means that any outburst on the part of
your partner will be pretty much without consequence. Your partner can yell,
attack you, or even throw things.
Second, the conversation won't be over until the other person decides to leave.
That means the talk can go on for hours. Third, it leaves the door wide open
for some sort of physical "reunion" between you two. Many breakups end up with
the couple in bed, instead of saying good-bye. This only complicates things
and makes the inevitable breakup harder the next time you muster the courage
to try again.
#2: Their place.
Not quite as bad as breaking up at your place, but many of the same dangers
exist. The one and only advantage: you can leave when you decide it's time.
#3: A restaurant.
Do you really think you're going to order wine and appetizers and pretend to
be having a great time, and then pull something like, "I'll have the salmon,
and honey, I just don't think this is working out"?
Delivering the bad news in a crowded restaurant may decrease the chance of an
outburst, but it will also be humiliating for them, as their tears and sadness
will be obvious to the other people in the restaurant.
And if there is an outburst, you'll be embarrassed by the entire restaurant
staring at you, and possibly learning things you'd rather they didn't know.
#4: Their workplace.
Not only are you going to break their heart, you're also going to ruin their
performance at work, and maybe even create a situation where they'll need to
leave for the day.
And again, it will be completely humiliating to have all your partner's friends
and co-workers witness you dumping them. Also again, if an ugly argument ensues,
your dirty laundry will be aired for all to see -- and e-mail and talk about
later.
So where should you do it? There is no perfect place, but a general rule is to try to find a public place without an audience, like a park or beach. This kind of location will prevent you from being cornered, will greatly reduce the
chance of a scene, and also offers an all-important escape route. Neither of you will feel compelled to stay any longer than necessary, since you can leave whenever you want.
* Where was the worst place you ever got dumped?
* Have you ever been in a public place, like a restaurant, and seen someone
getting dumped?
* What was that like?
