David Hames was a videographer working with the Christian organization called Compassion International. Officials said he had returned to his hotel for the day when the earthquake struck. Six stories collapsed on top of him, and his body wasn't discovered until Monday. Friend and co-worker Dan Woolley was with Hames at the time. He was pulled from the rubble alive on Jan. 15. "It's difficult to know that we were there so close to each other, and I can't put a reason why I'm here and he isn't." Hames graduated from MTSU's College of Mass Communications in 1992. He had since moved to Colorado where he owned a production company called Red Balloon Entertainment. He leaves behind a wife and two kids ages 3 and 5. Friday the senior was free on bond. Wyanna's mother said she thinks officials should not have arrested her son over a piece of cheese.

Police said Holt and another man forced their way into a couple's Madison apartment last summer, robbed a 21-year old woman and her boyfriend and then raped the woman. Investigators used DNA from the scene to run through a database. It matched Holt who was in the system from the previous conviction. Holt has since confessed to the crime, and police said they were still looking for the other suspect.

TOP STORIES:
" Bill Clinton released from hospital "

*New York (CNN) -- Former President Clinton left a New York hospital early Friday, less than a day after doctors performed a procedure to restore blood flow in one of his coronary arteries.
Terry McAuliffe, a Clinton confidant and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, confirmed Clinton had left New York-Presbyterian Hospital's Columbia campus. A statement from Douglas Band, adviser to Clinton, also confirmed the release, saying the former president expressed thanks to his doctors and "the many people who extended their best wishes to him for a quick recovery. He looks forward in the days ahead to getting back to the work of his foundation, and to Haiti relief and recovery efforts." Clinton has "no evidence of heart attack or damage to his heart," and his prognosis is excellent after undergoing a procedure Thursday, according to Dr. Allan Schwartz, the hospital's chief of cardiology. Schwartz said the procedure was "part of the natural history" of Clinton's treatment following his 2004 quadruple bypass surgery and "not a result of either his lifestyle or diet, both of which have been excellent." President Obama called Clinton on Thursday evening and wished him a speedy recovery so he can continue his work on Haiti and other humanitarian efforts, a senior administration official said. Schwartz said Clinton began experiencing "pressure or constriction" in his chest several days ago, episodes he described as "brief in nature but repetitive." An initial electrocardiogram and blood test showed no evidence of heart attack, Schwartz said. Subsequent pictures of Clinton's arteries revealed that one of the bypass grafts from his 2004 surgery was "completely blocked," prompting the stent procedure, which took about an hour, Schwartz said. A stent is a tubular scaffolding that is inserted into a blood vessel after it's been cleared to keep it open.

"Iran will 'quicken nuclear work if US threats continue'"

*Iran's Parliament Speaker says his country will 'speed up' its nuclear work if the Obama administration continues to threaten the country with a new round of sanctions. "Even if US President Barack Obama dares to repeat threats of tougher sanction against us as much as ten times, we will still be determined to pursue our enrichment program, but with a much faster pace," said Ali Larijani on Thursday. Only hours after Iran announced a decision to domestically produce higher-enriched uranium under the supervision of the UN nuclear watchdog, Obama warned that the US is preparing a “significant regime of sanctions” against the Tehran government. The US president, who was speaking to reporters on Tuesday, went on to accuse Iran of spurning his offer of engagement in order to continue what he called Iran's nuclear weapons program. Larijani responded to the US allegations, warning that if continued, the threats will have heavy consequences in both Iran and the US. "Whenever we make a significant breakthrough, whether it is launching a satellite into space or any other technological or scientific achievement, they quickly demonize it and claim that it is aimed at military or spying purposes," said Larijani. "But their problem really lies with the fact that our status in the international scene is changing for the better," added the Iranian Parliament Speaker. "They can not bear to see our progress, which is why they want to keep us as an underdeveloped country."
Larijani noted that Western superpowers have ceaselessly sought to sow discord among Iranians in order to "fish in troubled waters." The Iranian official made the comments in a large crowd marking the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

"BEFORE THE BELL: US Stock Futures Down On China Reserve Ratio Hike "

*U.S. stock futures were lower Friday after China hiked its deposit-reserve ratio, escalating worries over global economic growth and prompting traders to sell stocks and commodities, and buy the U.S. dollar.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 64 points, or 0.6%, to 10046. S&P 500 futures fell 7.7 points to 1068.90, and Nasdaq 100 futures declined 13 points to 1762.50. The People's Bank of China announced Friday it will raise the ratio of reserves banks must set aside by 0.5 percentage points, marking the second such action this year. The central bank has been tightening monetary policy in an attempt to restrain bank lending. Its moves, however, have raised worries over a potential slowdown in China's economic growth. "The PBOC move risks eroding any stabilization emerging in global equities" following the European Union's pledge on Thursday to support Greece, said Ashraf Laidi, chief market strategist at CMC Markets. The news from China sent the U.S. dollar sharply higher, while it also prompted traders to sell stocks and commodities such as oil and gold. Oil futures fell $1.21 to $74.07 a barrel, while gold futures dropped $8.50 to $1,086.20 an ounce. The concern is that slowing growth in China will lead to a decline in its appetite for commodities. The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of other major currencies, rose 0.8% to 80.7. The euro also was weak, down not just on the China news but also affected by news of a paltry 0.1% expansion of the euro-area economy during the fourth quarter and a downturn in industrial production data. There also was a continued paucity of details over what level of support other European nations will provide debt-ravaged Greece. In the U.S., data on retail sales for January is due at 8:30 a.m., EST, followed by inventories for December and consumer sentiment for February at 9:55 a.m., EST. The U.S. Energy Information Administration will also release delayed data on petroleum and natural-gas inventories. Motorola Inc. (MOT) rose 0.7% in premarket trade after it said late Thursday that it plans to split itself up into two separate companies. SkillSoft PLC (SKIL) said a group of private-equity firms will buy it for $1.1 billion, or $10.80 a share. U.S. equities finished with strong gains on Thursday, after a E.U. pledge to support Greece.

"KIM BASINGER TRIED TO EMBARRASS ALEC BALDWIN WITH 911 CALL"

*Kim Basinger was behind that 9-1-1 call that sent Alec Baldwin to the hospital yesterday (Thursday) morning, Radar Online reports. According to a police source, Alec said he believed his daughter Ireland was persuaded by his estranged wife to call 9-1-1 "to embarrass" the 30 Rock actor. The source said, "Alec never threatened to overdose. He did admit to taking one Ambien sleeping pill -- that's all. Certainly nothing that would have required an emergency call. Early reports said Alec had threatened to take pills during a phone argument with Ireland, saying, "I'm going to end this." Ireland allegedly called 9-1-1, and Alec was taken to the hospital. He was released an hour later, and he returned to work on 30 Rock later in the afternoon.
Alec's rep said, "This was a misunderstanding on one person's part. Alec was quickly released from the hospital. He's completely fine and is at work today."

But I'm lucky and blessed that he taught us how to stand strong and move on and still laugh." She says that despite Daniel Kerrigan's death being ruled a homicide, she and her family are standing by her brother Mark, who's accused of assaulting her father before his heart attack.

"GROUP PETITIONING TO KEEP STERN OFF AMERICAN IDOL"

*Kara DioGuardi isn't the only person who thinks Howard Stern isn't fit to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol. The Parents Television Council is petitioning to keep the shock jock off the FOX show. The group blasts the network for "considering filling the show with someone who is known primarily for crude profanity and explicit sex talk." The council asks parents to "protect America's children and grandchildren from being exposed to this kind of language every week on American Idol. It is absolutely vital that you "TELL FOX NOT TO HIRE HOWARD STERN!" *Earlier this week, Kara said Howard wouldn't make a good fit on the show because he doesn't have a musical background like Simon.

GOOD NEWS:
"Study Reveals Chocolate Consumption Could Help Prevent Stroke"

*Scientists have recently discovered that people who eat chocolate are less likely to suffer a stroke than those who do not consume this sweet. Researchers from the University of Toronto in Canada studied almost 50,000 people, and determined that those who ate chocolate were 22 percent less likely to have a stroke. Also, the study showed that those who consumed chocolate but still suffered a stroke were almost 46 percent less likely to die as a result of the stroke. It is believed that chocolate lowers the risk of stroke because chocolate is loaded with flavanoids, which are a healthy antioxidant. It is recommended that people consume one 50 gram serving of chocolate per week to lower their risk of suffering a stroke. However, chocolate also contains many saturated fats and should be eaten in moderation to avoid unwanted weight gain.
This study is the only one of its kind. The scientists involved in this study agree that more investigation into the subject of chocolate consumption needs to be conducted. It is necessary to determine whether chocolate actually does lower the risk of stroke, or if healthier people are more inclined to eat chocolate than less healthy people. The findings are set to be presented at the 62nd Annual American Academy of Neurology Meeting in Toronto.

HEALTHY MATTERS:
"5 medication-free strategies to help prevent heart disease"

*1-Don't smoke or use tobacco products
Smoking or using other tobacco products is one of the most significant risk factors for developing heart disease. When it comes to heart disease prevention, no amount of smoking is safe. Smokeless tobacco and low-tar and low-nicotine cigarettes also are risky, as is exposure to secondhand smoke.
2-Get active
Regularly participating in moderately vigorous physical activity can reduce your risk of fatal heart disease.
3-Eat a heart-healthy diet
Eating a special diet called the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating plan also can help protect your heart. Following the DASH diet means eating foods that are low in fat, cholesterol and salt.
4- Maintain a healthy weight
As you put on weight in adulthood, your weight gain is mostly fat rather than muscle. This excess weight can lead to conditions that increase your chances of heart disease — high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
5- Get regular health screenings
High blood pressure and high cholesterol can damage your heart and blood vessels. But without testing for them, you probably won't know whether you have these conditions. Regular screening can tell you what your numbers are and whether you need to take action.
