*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 7-week-old baby girl whose arms and legs were broken has finally been released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and placed in state custody. "Rollover Crash Backs Up I-65 Southbound"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An SUV rolled over into the median near mile marker 97 on Interstate 65 around 6:20 a.m. Thursday.
One lane was blocked on I-65 south until just after 7 a.m., but traffic remained stopped while the mile-long back up cleared.
I-65 north was backed up due to rubbernecking, but traffic was moving by 7 a.m. Emergency crews transported the driver to a local hospital. There is no word on that person's condition. The Tennessee Department of Transportation said I-65 should be cleared by 7:20 a.m. Mile marker 97 between the Millersville/Springfield exit and the Long Hollow Pike exit.

"East Coast Snow Storms Cancel Flights Out Of Nashville"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - While the winter weather has come and gone in Middle Tennessee, back-to-back blizzards have hit the eastern seaboard hard, and it doesn't look like the historic snowfall will be letting up anytime soon. For the second time in a week, a major storm battered the East Cost with heavy snow and high winds. New snowfall records have been set for Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore. The wintry mess even caused a 50 car pile up on Interstate 80 in Philadelphia. All of the snow has officials concerned about power lines and roof collapses, and it doesn't look like their concerns will be alleviated any time soon. Forecasters said a third storm could be brewing for next week. This arctic blast just hasn't been affecting the mid-Atlantic. It has sent a ripple effect through the country. Including right here in Middle Tennessee, as people try to travel by plane. At least a dozen flights going to the northeast were canceled at the Nashville International Airport Thursday. An 8:30 a.m. flight going to Baltimore, an 8 a.m. flight going to Newark, N.J., and a 12:45 p.m. flight to Baltimore were just some of the flights canceled out of Nashville Thursday morning. The key is to call the Nashville International Airport ahead of time or go to www.nashintl.comto check on flights.

TOP STORIES:
"Clashes in Iran on Anniversary of Islamic Revolution"

*Iranian authorities clashed with opposition supporters Thursday as huge crowds rallied in Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of the founding of the Islamic Republic. Iranian opposition Web sites say security forces fired tear gas to disperse opposition supporters gathering in central Tehran. There are reports that leading reformist politicians Mehdi Karroubi and former President Mohammad Khatami were attacked when they attended the rally. The opposition also says authorities briefly detained Mr. Khatami's sister-in-law, Zahra Eshraghi, and her husband Mohammad Reza Khatami. The reason was not reported. Eshraghi is the grand-daughter of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
At Tehran's Azadi (Freedom) Square President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed hundreds of thousands of people amassed to celebrate the national holiday. In his address, Mr. Ahmadinejad praised the achievements of the Iranian people, railed against the West, and announced that Iranian scientists had produced the first batch of higher-grade nuclear fuel.
Opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi had urged their supporters to turn out on the streets for a peaceful demonstration. The anniversary Thursday marks the 1979 ouster of Iran's monarchist government. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Iranians take part in rallies to celebrate the anniversary.

"Europe Rejects Deal with US on Sharing Bank Data "
*BRUSSELS — The European Parliament on Thursday broadly rejected an agreement with the United States on sharing information on bank transfers that was aimed at tracking suspected terrorists through their finances. The vote in Strasbourg, France, underlined differences between the United States and the European Union over how to balance guarantees of personal privacy with concerns about national and international security. A resolution to reject the deal passed 378-196, with 31 abstentions. The vote means that the agreement, which provisionally went into force at the beginning of February, cannot be used as planned. The agreement would have freed the United States from having to seek bank data on a country-by-country basis. But Washington still could press for access to the data through such avenues. Many members of the Parliament complained that the agreement — meant to last for nine months while a more permanent arrangement was sought — failed to guarantee the privacy rights of European citizens. Members also were angered when ministers from the body’s 27 national governments agreed on the interim deal with the United States one day before a new treaty governing the European Union — one giving deputies in the European Parliament a greater say over data-protection issues — went into effect. Underlining the importance of the agreement to the United States, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner had promised to cooperate with the Parliament in negotiating a long-term accord. European sensitivity is high after it was revealed in 2006 that the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, or Swift, which is based near Brussels, had provided United States authorities with personal data after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Swift registers trillions of dollars in cross-border transactions daily for nearly 8,000 financial institutions.

CELEB DISH:
"JOHN MAYER SORRY ABOUT "RAW" PLAYBOY INTERVIEW"

*John Mayer may have finally stuck his foot in his big mouth. In an interview with Playboy, John makes some outrageous statements about his many exes -- but the real controversy came when he compared his genitals to a "white supremacist" and used the N-word when describing how he's loved by the black community. John apologized via Twitter for using the racial slur and promised to stop "trying to be so raw in interviews." Asked if black women throw themselves at him, Mayer said, "I don't think I open myself to it. My [penis] is sort of like a white supremacist. I've got a Benetton heart and a...David Duke [penis]. I'm going to start dating separately from my [penis]." John also talked about sex with Jessica Simpson, saying, "Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me... Sexually it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm." On Jennifer Aniston, he said, "There was a rumor that I'd been dumped because I was tweeting too much. That wasn't it, but that was a big difference. The brunt of her success came before T-M-Z and Twitter. I think she's still hoping it goes back to 1998. She saw my involvement in technology as courting distraction. And I always said, 'These are the new rules.'"

"DOCTOR CONRAD MURRAY BACK TO WORK"

*Doctor is in!~Doctor Conrad Murray, free on 75-thousand-dollar bail, was back at work at his Las Vegas office yesterday. But if you're looking for a heavy sedative, look elsewhere -- Murray, who's been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, is prohibited from administering powerful anesthetics, like Propofol.

"KARA NOT KEEN ON STERN"

*One American Idol judge doesn't think Howard Stern has the credentials to replace Simon Cowell.
In an Idol press conference yesterday, Kara DioGuardi said, "I don't think he has a musical background or any kind of music...um... anything. If you are going to replace Simon, you have to have that background. Someone who knows about signing great artists and being a part of their career from the very beginning like [Simon] has done." Kara also pointed that the Stern talk, "right now, that's just a rumor."

"BIGGEST LOSER TRAINER SUED"

*Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels is a big fat liar -- according to a new class-action suit. The fitness guru is being sued for false advertising over the diet supplement Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control. The lawyer who filed the suit, Melissa Harnett, tells T-M-Z, "Telling people you take two magic pills and then eat chocolate cake all day is a deception." The suit is asking for an injunction prohibiting the sale of the product, plus damages.

"FAMILY TROUBLE FOR DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER"

*Dog the Bounty Hunter is in the middle of family feud. Sources tell T-M-Z that Duane "Dog" Chapman's two sons have been fired from the family bail bond business by Beth Chapman because she was mad they created an apparel company. But the show's producers say the sons, Duane Lee and Leland, quit the bail bond business and cut all ties with the family. On Tuesday, they said the two had 48 hours to return to the business or they're off the show.

GOOD NEWS:
"Jobless claims fall sharply in latest week"

*WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of U.S. workers filing new applications for jobless benefits tumbled last week, a government report showed on Thursday, reversing a recent spike that had raised concerns about renewed labor market weakness. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped by 43,000 to a seasonally adjusted 440,000 for the week ended February 6, down from a revised 483,000 in the prior week, the Labor Department said. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected 465,000 initial claims. The prior week was initially reported as 480,000, an unexpectedly high reading that was blamed in part on a backlog of claims that piled up over the holiday season. U.S. stock index futures extended gains after the data, while the dollar pared losses versus the yen. A Labor Department official said that with this latest report, the administrative backlog was largely "washed out." "By and large we are resuming a normal level with all states reporting an appropriate base level," the official said. The four-week moving average, which smooths out week-to-week volatility, fell by 1,000 to 468,500. "The good news in the claims is that the Labor Department administrators are telling us that they have gotten through a backlog and perhaps the labor market hasn't deteriorated very much in the last two months," said Cary Leahey, senior economist with Decision Economics in New York.

"NO DATE FOR V-DAY?"

-Invite your single friends over for a horror or comedy movie-a-thon.

-TP your ex's house.
-Get a tattoo.
-Pamper yourself -- get a massage/facial/manicure/pedicure
-And when all else fails ... drink heavily -- preferably with friends.

HEALTHY MATTERS:
"Stuttering May Be in Your Genes"

*When she was a girl, Jane Fraser recalls her father, Malcolm, asking her to give their name when they checked into a hotel.
Malcolm Fraser was one of the founders of the Genuine Parts Company, which is now part of NAPA Auto Parts. But this successful man was also a stutterer. "It's all over my family, and a lot of us stuttered as children but got therapy early on," said Jane Fraser, noting that she received speech therapy because of the suspicion at the time that stuttering runs in families. For her, the therapy may have spared her from the condition. "None of my generation or their children or their grandchildren have that problem," she said. On Wednesday, researchers confirmed what some have long suspected by finding genes that account for some cases of stuttering, a condition that affects about 3 million Americans. It is a development that Fraser and others believe will allow better recognition of the condition and more early intervention and be the first step toward resolving an ailment that affects many worldwide.
