What are the greatest songs ever? Well, that's all subjective, but the influential music blog Consequence of Sound has taken a stab at making a list of them in honor of its fifth anniversary.
Michael Jackson appears three times on the site's eclectic "Top 100 Greatest Songs Ever" list with "Man in the Mirror," at #4, and "Billie Jean," in at #42, and as a part of the Jackson 5's for their #15 song, "I Want You Back." Rounding out the top 10 songs are Aretha Franklin at number eight for "Respect," and late rapper the Notorious B.I.G. in the top nine spot for his song "Juicy."
Other hip hop, rap and R&B artists who made it onto the list include Jay-Z, Kanye West, N.W.A., Missy Elliott, and Public Enemy, as well as Prince, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, and others.
To check out the entire list, which also features songs from a wide variety of other genres including pop, soul, jazz, blues, and alternative, indie, classic and hard rock, visit ConsequenceofSound.net.
