The officers killed were 34-year-old Benjamin Deen and 25-year-old rookie Liquori Tate.

According to Hattiesburg Mayor, Johnny DuPree, the incident started at about 8 p.m. Saturday when Deen pulled over a gold Cadillac Escalade. When Deen called for backup, Tate responded and arrived at the scene. One of the suspects began shooting at the officers, who died later at Hattiesburg hospital.
