Four people were arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting deaths of two Hattiesburg, Mississippi police officers, who were shot and killed during a routine traffic stop gone wrong.
The officers killed were 34-year-old Benjamin Deen and 25-year-old rookie Liquori Tate.
According to Hattiesburg Mayor, Johnny DuPree, the incident started at about 8 p.m. Saturday when Deen pulled over a gold Cadillac Escalade. When Deen called for backup, Tate responded and arrived at the scene. One of the suspects began shooting at the officers, who died later at Hattiesburg hospital.
The suspects arrested include 29-year-old Marvin Banks, 22-year-old Joanie Calloway, who were both charged with two counts of capital murder. Banks's 26-year-old brother, Curtis, was charged two counts of being an accessory after the fact of capital murder, while 28-year-old Cornelius Clark was charged with obstruction of justice
