Nicki-Mariah Argument on American Idol Set Caught on Tape

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have downplayed rumors that they haven't been getting along on the American Idol set. But TMZ.comhas posted video that strongly suggests the two aren't exactly the best of friends.

The video, shot during American Idol auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday, depicts an irate Nicki bickering with Mariah. Nicki is seen complaining, "I told them, I'm not f***in' putting up with her f***in' highness over there."

According to TMZ, there was another moment not captured on tape when Nicki threatened to "knock out" Mariah.

The website MouthtoEars.com is reporting that Nicki walked off the set because Mariah "kept making jabs at her" and cursing at her. Things got so out of hand that producers ended auditions for the day, according to MouthtoEars.com.

TMZ says the war of words stemmed from a disagreement over a contestant's performance.

Mariah on Tuesday evening tweeted "whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy," but it's unclear if she was referring to the incident.
