This has been a well-known saying for so long that plenty of men believe it -- which has caused women to believe it too.
But, is it true?
Most women say that they do not want to date a total jerk.
Most women say they want a guy who treats them with respect and kindness. They say they want a man who opens doors, buys them flowers, treats them to nice dinners and spends time actually listening to them.
Yet, almost every guy who's put himself out there and done these things has gotten shot down and trampled on by some woman who was more attracted to a jerk.
No wonder guys are reluctant to spend the time, energy and attention on being Prince Charming. It's a dead-end road to heartbreak.
