AVOID MICE LIKE THE PLAGUE

An Oregon man is in critical condition after emerging as the loser in a game of cat and mouse -- played with a real cat and mouse. The man, whose name was not released, tried to act as a knight in shining armor for a little rodent, which he managed to rescue from a stray cat -- only to come down with a severe case of bubonic plague for his trouble. He's being treated with antibiotics to bring down an extremely high fever. A spokesman for Oregon's public health department said, "Taking a mouse out of a cat's mouth is probably not a good idea."
