TULSA SHOOTING: 73-Year-Old Reserve Deputy Charged With Manslaughter

That 73-year-old insurance company executive, who was moonlighting as a reserve sheriff's deputy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was charged with second-degree manslaughter on Monday.

Robert Bates shot and killed 44-year-old Eric Harris, an unarmed black man, on April 2nd in what he said was an accident. He claims he got his Taser confused with his gun and fired the lethal shot.

Say What:

Maybe the shooting was an accident, but the cops berated the suspect after the shooting.

If the cops acted quickly following the shooting, Harris may have survived.

The reserve program helps police around the country, but maybe there should be a mandatory retirement age.
