TSU STUDENT GUNNED DOWN OFF JEFFERSON STREET...SO SAD!!

Metro police identified the Tennessee State University student who was shot and killed Wednesday night as 24-year-old Jonathan Finley.

A bullet struck Finley in the 2400 block of Jefferson Street after a person or persons shot into the Mitsubishi Montero SUV in which he and two others were riding, police said. The other men drove Finley to
Skyline Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

As a fellow TSU student drove Finley to convenience store to by a drink, they ran into a former TSU student who asked for a ride to a friend’s house on Jefferson Street. When they pulled up to the house
and saw at least two men standing nearby, they drove off fearing for
their safety.

At least one man shot at the vehicle as it drove off. A bullet hit Finley who was in the back seat, police said.
