Trump Hotels has agreement in place for Nashville project

Trump Hotels, one of many companies owned by President Donald Trump, has an agreement in place to bring one of its brands to Nashville.

The Wall Street Journal reports (subscription required) that the chain has 17 signed letters of intent “with potential owners” for its new Scion brand. The Journal reports that Nashville is among the markets where a deal is in place, though Trump Hotels CEO Eric Danziger declined to disclose the name of developers involved in the deals. Cities with agreements in place include Nashville, Austin, Cincinnati, Dallas and New York.

In April 2015, Trump told the Nashville Business Journal that Music City is "absolutely ready" for a five-star hotel. Read more from our exclusive interview with him here.

The Scion flag — the first for the company to not include Trump’s name in its branding — is meant to cater to younger travelers.

It’s worth noting that just because a letter of intent has been signed does not guarantee that a Scion project will become a reality in Nashville. Stay tuned.
