BUD ADAMS WANTS VINCE YOUNG TO PLAY
In so many words, Bud Adams has told Fisher to start Vince! Fisher has been slow to say whether or not he'd do just that. After watching the Titans lose 59-0, Bud Adams thinks we need a change at QB and so do most of us in Nashville. Let's hope Fisher gets it together and put our boy in the GAME!
Davidson County General Sessions Judge Gloria Dumas is facing accusations of misconduct from the state's disciplinary board that oversees judges for chronic lateness and for hiring her own daughter.
Dumas was charged by the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary for failing to be on the bench when court is scheduled to begin; for hiring her own daughter without considering qualified candidates; and for overusing a statute that allows judges to occasionally appoint a replacement. A response to the charges is due from Dumas this week.
ANTIOCH RESIDENTS RALLY AGAINST CRIME
at a meeting Monday, police tackled the tough questions of property break-ins and gang-motivated murder in Antioch. More than 100 residents came to get some answers.
Statistically the crime numbers in the Antioch area are down, but it's been a rough five weeks in the area. Police are looking for ways to stop the trend.
"This will be an opportunity to receive some information and concerns that's been going on in the community, plus allow the community to receive response back from the police," said Metro Council member Vivian Wilhoite.
GIRL RAPED FOR 2 HOURS AT A HIGH SCHOOL DANCE
A California high school student who police said was gang raped in a two-and-a-half-hour assault outside a homecoming dance remained hospitalized in stable condition Monday, two days after she was flown from the attack scene in critical condition.
As of late Monday, two suspects had been arrested in the case and a third was being questioned.
"There is one individual in custody who has made some spontaneous statements that have led me to believe that he is culpable for what happened," Richmond police Lt. Johan Simon said.
Nineteen-year-old Manuel Ortega, described as a former student at the school, was arrested soon after he fled the scene and will face charges of rape, robbery and kidnapping, police said.
A 15-year-old was later arrested and charged with one count of felony sexual assault. A third teenager was being interviewed, according to Lt. Mark Gagan of the police department in Richmond, California.
"Based on witness statements and suspect statements, and also physical evidence, we know that she was raped by at least four suspects committing multiple sex acts," Gagan said.
Investigators said as many as 15 people, all males, stood around watching the assault, but did not call police or help the victim, a 15-year-old student at Richmond High School in suburban San Francisco.
Juelz Santana is irate over the legal blow handed last week to Lil' Wayne, who'll likely serve a year in prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges stemming from a 2007 arrest. Santana tells VladTV.com, "They totally violated my man. I'm offended because it happened in New York City. [He] came to do [a show], and [they] pulled his bus over. You don't pull a tour bus over when a [man] comes to your city to perform for probably the kids of some of the same people that locked him up. At the end of the day, we shouldn't be going to jail for anything. As rappers, we out here on defense."
Cash Money Records' Ronald "Slim" Williams and Bryan "Baby" Williams issued a statement over the weekend vowing to "continue to support our artist and friend Lil' Wayne in his current court case. We have worked with Wayne since he was a teenager, and have seen him grow into one of the world's most successful hip-hop artists, with a work ethic that is second to none. Wayne has our love and commitment during this difficult time. We always have and always will stand behind him."
Kenny Asks: Do you agree that rappers are unfairly targeted by authorities? Or do they set themselves up for trouble by carrying guns and narcotics?
Michael Jackson's children are in therapy to deal with the death of their father, LaToya Jackson has revealed.
She tells London's Mirror newspaper that "Prince just doesn't want to speak about it," but sister Paris "thinks and talks about her father all the time." LaToya says Michael's youngest child, Prince Michael the Second, a-k-a Blanket, "is just a very sad, shy little boy... He cries -- he really does cry. It's so painful for him... They all go to therapy, and I truly hope Prince especially will be able to open up."
LaToya also hints that Paris might be heading into show business. "Paris doesn't know it, but she has all the makings of a star. If she wants to go into showbiz I can see that happening."
WHO SAID IT?
"Neither one of us believes in God or marriage, so I guess a big church wedding is out."

Six black students from Washington University in Saint Louis have filed a complaint with the Chicago Human Rights Commission, the Illinois Attorney General, the U-S Department of Justice and other organizations, alleging they were denied entrance to a local club because of their race. Managers claim the black students were in violation of a dress code at the Original Mother's bar. However when a black and white student swapped outfits to test the policy, the white student wearing baggy jeans was admitted. A bar representative tells the Chicago Tribune that the establishment takes the issue "very seriously" and is carrying out an internal investigation with possible consequences for the employee involved.
FBI ROUNDS UP 700 IN SEX SWEEP
The F-B-I has arrested nearly 700 people and rescued 52 children -- including a 10-year-old -- from prostitution rings during a nationwide sweep. About 60 of those arrested were pimps, who would peddle the underage sex victims on the Internet, on streets or at truck stops. Most of the children rescued during the operation -- dubbed Cross Country Four -- were teenage girls, many aged 12 to 14.
THE YANKEES BUY ANOTHER TRIP TO THE WORLD SERIES
This year's World Series is set -- the Philadelphia Phillies versus the New York Yankees.
One reason why much of America hates the New York Yankees is the huge salaries it hands out to players.
Over the off-season, the Yankees signed pitchers A.J. Burnett and C.C. Sabathia and first baseman Mark Teixeira to a combined $423.5 million in long-term deals.
Alex Rodriguez is working through the 10-year, $275 million deal he signed in 2008.
And, baseball doesn't have a salary cap like other professional sports, so rich teams like the Yankees, Mets and Cubs can overpay for players.
For example, the Philadelphia Phillies are in the fourth-biggest market for sports and spent a team record $111 million in 2009.
The Yankees' payroll is almost twice that of the Phillies -- and $64 million higher than the New York Mets, who have the second-highest payroll in baseball.
Another sickening fact: Alex Rodriguez will make $33 million this season, just in salary, which is $2 million more than the entire payroll for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
So, enjoy your post-season success, New York Yankees fans. Your team paid enough for it.
