GANGS ARE SPREADING IN NASHVILLE

Roger Wayne Battle, the local leader of the Traveling Vice Lords who was indicted on federal charges Tuesday, was on the Metro police gang unit's radar as early as 2005.

Police thought he was going to be off the streets for eight years after he was sentenced for crashing into unmarked cruisers, gang unit officers and unsuspecting motorists while trying to escape a drug sting.

Battle, known as "T-Wayne," was out of prison in less than three years.

Since his release, police have connected Battle to at least three murders, kidnapping, racketeering, assault, four drive-by shootings and other charges his crew is facing.

On Tuesday, Battle, 28, and eight other gang members were hit with a 64-count federal indictment that signals the growth of gangs in Middle Tennessee.

In two years, federal prosecutors have worked on cases involving gangs MS-13, Rollin' Crips, La Familia Cartel and now the Traveling Vice Lords. Local, state and federal agencies have worked together on all of them.

Police say there are more than three dozen gang-affiliated groups in Middle Tennessee.

MTSU RIOT BREAKS OUT

Witnesses said a religious demonstrator incited an all-out riot in the middle of the MTSU campus. In the conflict, Michaela Morales claims she was sexually assaulted, and she was the one arrested.

Morales, a junior at MTSU, insists she was merely trying to break-up a fight when she wound-up tangling with a man named Don McGlone - an evangelist, turned antagonist, according to witnesses.

"It was getting scary," said eyewitness and Morales's boyfriend George Vasquez. "He was being very offensive to everybody."

On the section of campus known as the Knoll, eyewitnesses said Don McGlone was not preaching and much as he was reaching.

Michael Jackson's This Is It officially arrives in theaters today, although some theaters began screening the film last night at 9 p-m. Sony is confident the film is already a posthumous hit for the King of Pop. Sony exec Rory Bruer tells Billboard, "Advance sales have been very good. This is something unique. It's an event, and we're very excited about the potential but really can't quantify it yet." Pre-release tracking projections suggest the performance-filled documentary could ring up more than 40-million dollars through Sunday.

The film, directed by Kenny Ortega, depicts Jackson in rare form as he prepared for stand of London shows in support of a planned comeback disc.

While reports say Jackson's mother Katherine doesn't want to see the film, younger brother Randy called it "riveting," telling T-M-Z, "We get a glimpse of a true genius at work. His passionate message for healing the world, saving the planet and our children's futures is something he was always striving for in his lifetime."

He and actress wife Paula Patton are expecting their first child. Thicke tells Us magazine, "She could make a marriage work with a chair. She's an incredible woman, and she's very beautiful, so I'm just lucky to be with her."

Jay Z In Trouble?

By now you may have heard that Jay Z and Alicia Keys were all set to perform their hit song "Empire State of Mind" for the first game of the World Series, which is tonight at Yankee Stadium in New York.

Well now we're hearing that that performance may not happen. Word is that higher ups in the Yankees organization are upset with a couple of lines in the song.

No, not his foul language. Or the use of the "N-word." Apparently someone is upset that he said, "I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can." Come on, guys. Really? Is that's it? Some people can be so sensitive.

In other news we have to give a special shout out to the new couple. Well, actually they're not that new.

Diddy and his baby's mother, Kim Porter, have resparked their on again off again 12 year love affair. Up until a few weeks ago, Diddy was seeing R&B singer Cassie. But over the weekend, Diddy had a romantic rendezvous with Kim.

Aw, man! I guess that means we're never gonna hear that new Cassie album.

1. He's Acting Differently.

More than 55 percent of guys cheating or about to cheat said they started spending time away from home. If your guy has suddenly started avoiding you (staying at work late, making excuses to get out of the house ...) and if he's no longer making time for you, he might be making it for someone else.

3. You're Having Less/Different Sex.
Quality and quantity -- if things in the bedroom have dropped sharply, or more importantly changed, it might be time to find out why.

4. His General Response To You Has Changed.
If a guy is having an affair, he may stop acting like the sweet, romantic man you fell in love with. A guy who is suddenly annoyed easily, critical, or picking fights might be on his way out, or might be stepping out.

5. He Has Suddenly Become Very Private.
Unless he was a privacy freak from day one, it's a bad sign when he suddenly stops checking his e-mail in front of you, has turned the bathroom into a phone booth, and has redirected the bills to his office.
