Gotta Pay These Bills - DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT

The 22-year-old applied to sit-down restaurants, fast-food chains and retail stores at the mall — all the kinds of places she has worked before.

But in August, with the unemployment rate at 9.6 percent in Davidson County and 10.7 percent statewide, she wasn't having much luck. After losing her car and running out of friends' couches to sleep on, Tillman found herself in a Nashville homeless shelter.

To get there, she walked past one of the city's five adult entertainment clubs. Then it hit her.

"I wonder what it takes to work in there," said Tillman.

She explained her situation to the manager, who guided her through the application process for obtaining a sexually oriented business license from Metro. On Tuesday, she and five other applicants went to the Metro Office Building on Second Avenue to receive their permits. Five others who were not present also were granted permits.

Tillman worked in an adult entertainment club for the first time Thursday night. (The Tennessean is not naming the establishment at Tillman's request, though the paper did verify her employment there.)

It turns out Tillman's choice isn't unique. More women — and, for the first time this year, men — are turning to adult entertainment as a way to find lucrative work quickly and legally. (full story in today's Tennessean)

Nashville Immigration Laws Up For Review

The future of a controversial program that allows local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration laws hangs in the balance Monday.

The 287-G program allows Davidson County sheriff's deputies to identify, process and detain illegal immigrants who have been arrested for other offenses.

Since April 2007, Davidson County sheriff's have processed more than 6,400 illegal immigrants for removal, but now a new 287-G plan has to be approved by Metro Council.

JAY AND ALICIA KEYS - DO OVER!!

We just learned that Jay and Alicia Keys are getting a do-over.

Last time they performed their hit song "Empire State of Mind" on live TV they were interrupted by Lil Mama.

Well now we got wind that Jay and Alicia have signed on to perform their song at next month's American Music Awards.

And according to our snitch, this time they're gonna have top notch security with tasers to prevent anyone from jumping on stage.

Wouldn't it be great if Lil Mama tried something?

DIDDY DID WHAT?

Diddy is in a very giving mood lately.

Last week he threw a $20,000 diamond ring into the crowd while he performed on BET's 106 & Park.

And now word is that the king of Bad Boy just bought the mother of three of his kids, ex-girlfriend Kim Porter, a brand new $200,000 Bentley.

Gotta give it to Kim, she really knows how to put her uterus to good use.

Stop Wishing For A Rich Man: How To Snag One

For some women, it doesn't get any better than landing a guy with tons of cash. Victoria Lucia at Cosmo.com gives us the lowdown on guys with mad bank:

1. Many aren't making money the old-fashioned way. In the past, you'd expect big money-makers to be MBAs firmly entrenched in the financial world. But these days, more young guys are combining creative skills with tech knowledge. An example? Mark Zuckerberg, the 25-year-old founder of Facebook -- he's worth $2 billion.

2. You'll find them at hotel bars and upscale steak houses. "When rich guys travel, they stay at posh hotels because they expect the best of everything," says Janis Spindel, matchmaker for wealthy professionals. And for dinner, they don't settle for anything less than four-star steak houses. Before sitting down to rack up the bill, they'll probably hit the bar first.

3. They have gold-digger radar. "Gold diggers do not give off a cute vibe," says one successful 28-year-old investment banker. "They feign interest in your profession, only hang around when you're headed to the most exclusive restaurant or club, and then often invite nine of their closest friends to tag along."

4. They're naughty! According to the Luxury Institute, rich men are the group most likely to use the Web for adult entertainment, like porn. And, in one study, 75% of wealthy men said that more frequent sex and more partners are two benefits of being rich.

5. They feel entitled to arm candy. It may sound shallow, but according to Donna Spangler, author of How to Get a Rich Man, rich guys think they deserve to be with trophy women, or women they find prize-worthy.

6. But they don't want to marry a dummy, either. Eighty-nine percent of high achieving men report that they marry or would like to marry a woman who is just as intelligent than they are (or more!), says Christine Whelan, PhD, author of Why Smart Men Marry Smart Women. Also, 92% of men who describe themselves as "successful" or "very successful" say they are more attracted to women who are also successful in their careers.

7. Brunettes get more rich guys. Blond is reputed to be the sexiest hair color, but according to a survey by Lycos, 62% of the world's top 100 billionaires' wives and girlfriends are brunettes. What's still unclear: whether these rich men seek out darker-haired women or if there are just more of them out there (blond hair is rarer).

Phone Topics:

  • Ladies, have you ever dated a seriously rich guy? Where'd you meet him? What were the down sides of dating a rich guy?

  • Would you marry a guy who had no money? What if he were great in other ways -- just broke? Would your parents or friends disapprove if you married a guy who's broke?

Last week Busta Rhymes was ordered to pay 75-thousand to a man who'd accused the rap star of assaulting him in 2003. Alex Duncan claimed that Busta and an unnamed bodyguard sprayed water on him, punched him and beat him during a concert at SUNY Albany.

Prince Markie Dee -- a founding member of The Fat Boys -- has issued a public challenge to W-W-E Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik to engage in a charity wrestling match. The so-called feud stems from what Markie Dee calls "racist comments" that the Iron Sheik made to him on Twitter.
