To any born again believers who may be reading: Can you tell me why Christians jump the broom? My understanding is that this is not a biblical practice, and probably not a godly one at that. I am also interested to know about fraternities, my understanding is that a believer cannot belong to such and belong to Christ at the same time. I have seen commonalities with freemasonry, which is a secret society.

I hear she is going to make a lot of changes since she is now "First Lady". For starters he is going to institute a dress code at Mount Zion Baptist Church and all women are to wear hats. It will be mandatory or they cannot be seated.

My man Michael Baisden is "shutting the city DOWN" with comments he has made about the H1N1 vaccine. As some of you may know, I am also the Program Director for 92Q so I had to represent his comments from a station stand point. Like I said: If you want to take the shot then do so. Do your own homework and make a wise decision. Don't just blindly go out and take the shot because you saw it on the news...AND don't just NOT take the shot because you heard something said on the Michael Baisden Show. Don't be a sheep...make up your own mind!
MAN SHOT BY FRANKLIN POLICE - HIS GUN WAS ONLY A BB GUN
FRANKLIN — Franklin Police last night were withholding the name of a man shot by officers Tuesday after a robbery at a Kroger store pharmacy.
The 30-year-old suspect, who they say is a convicted felon, is in Vanderbilt Medical Center in stable but critical condition following surgery.
Police spokesman Charlie Warner said investigators believe the man might be responsible for other local robberies. Until police can meet with victims of the other crimes, Warner said the suspect's identity and photograph will be withheld.
The Kroger pharmacy at 595 Hillsboro Road in Independence Square also was robbed in August, but police would not speculate if the crimes were related.
USHER: The Papers Are Signed
Usher is officially a free man, according to legal documents. T-M-Z reports that the status of his divorce from Tameka Raymond has been changed in the official record to "disposed," which a court official says typically means the divorce is final.
A source close to the case says Usher actually signed the papers back in August, but the change showed up in the court file just yesterday.
SHYNE: Will Be Sent Back to Belize
Despite the best efforts of fans and his father, the prime minister of his native Belize, it appears Jamal "Shyne" Barrow will be deported. Nonetheless, a New York radio show reported this week he will continue his fight to remain in the U-S from Belize. Shyne was incarcerated for almost 10 years for a conviction on assault and weapons charges in a club shooting involving Sean "Diddy" Combs and then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.
Many people, including Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon, feel Diddy should assist Shyne. Raekwon tells Absolute T-V, "I don't see why he wouldn't. Maybe somebody gotta ask him right. Or maybe he wants to do it anyway. It's not up to me to judge a [man] or pull [man's] card on what he should do, it's just about what he wanna do."
TAMEKA "TINY" COTTLE: T-I's "Busy" in Jail
Tameka "Tiny" Cottle says her man T-I is managing prison life well. She tells AllHipHop.com, "He's doing good. He's passing the time by working out and just doing things they do inside, you know... I go see him every Sunday, sometimes on Mondays. We talk every day. He gets E-mails, working out and doing things like that, so he's busy in there. He has a full schedule." Tip's scheduled to be released from prison in March.
Tiny says with the recent violent occurrences in her inner circle -- the deaths of Ashley "A-J" Jewell this month and former boxing champion Vernon Forrest in July -- T-I's has warned her to stay low. "He wants me to stay out the way, me being out of harm's way. I know it's a lot of crazy things going on, so I try to stay in as much as possible because I don't have him here. So I come out only when it's necessary."

As a follow up to Nyah & a few other's... why not ask the man yourself. If you don't know, let me share this with you... He stands at the front of pulpit/stage after the 11:15 service, EVERY SUNDAY and answers questions of all who wish to question him. I am one that believes if you want to know the truth of a thing, go to the root of a thing. If you believe his wife is going to change things; that there is something wrong with him being in a Frat or anything else.. ask HIM, not Kenny or anyone on this blog. Go to the horse and look in his mouth and ASK!
NYAH I pray that it helps you to know that much of what "you understand" is very inaccurate which I understand, based on the statement you made at the beginning of your comment to born again believers. This has a heavy sense of your not being one and that's OK too because everyone has that season & I remember my days of lacking an understanding & relationship with God & Christ. Not to add to your confusion but did you know that the marriage vows are NOT in the Bible? NOPE.. they are not however people have been getting married since God put that institution in place. Now (here's the kicker) if marriage vows are not in the written word of God is it ungodly to say them, like jumping a broom or being in a frat???????
Be careful of the dust you stir up folks because one thing is SURE-TO-HAPPEN.. You will ingest some of it & who really wants to suck in this kind of bile?

Nyah asked a question or 2 that I would like to address one the "jumping the broom". The simple and most accurate answer is, it's a ceremony, it's a tradition much like saluting in the Army, in short it's something people do because they want to. Now if you have a desire to dig beneath the skin of a thing, "google it" like I did to answer your Q. It has origins that point to Africa & Europe however here in the US is a southern black thing that began with slaves who wanted to demonstrate their commitment to each other because slave owners would not allow African's to get married. Their desire to demonstrate their loyalty to each other had roots deeper than those who enslaved them and "jumping the broom" was the method they use. So your speculation about it being a non-biblical thing or a non Godly thing is non-accurate. It is not in the bible because Hebrews had their own ceremony's for getting married. They crush a glass bottle and yell "mazel tov" which is a Yiddish word that means.. Good Luck

I was soooo shocked to see that people could be so mean. They must not have been at the wedding. It was so beautiful and full of love. God was there and I could feel Him blessing that union. Pray for the haters because Lord knows that they need it.

To Bishop Walker and first lady you guys just keep the faith and pray for all others. That is why their are leaders and followers, everyone will not agree but their has to be a final decision. Keep your in Gods hand and he will take care of the rest.

That is just terrible! I attend Mt. Zion and I personally ,Thank God that he found a wife to love again! Those comments came from narrow minded people who apparently never loved and lost. May God continue to bless Bishop Walker and Dr. Stephanie Walker !

I am a member of Mt Zion and none of this stuff is true. And the fact is misery loves company the people writing this tuff are truly unhappy and need to seek God whether with Bishop Walker or another church all churchs has drama. But I feel Bishop Walker is a true annoited man and he preaches the word awesome every Sunday, Wed and whenever he speaks.... Dr Stephaine is awesome as well they look beautiful together and are truly happy so the people that is saying those bad things need to get a life and find Jesus and true love theirselves... God Bless
