Woman Falls off the bar at Coyote Ugly and now wants to SUE...GTFOH

Brittany Barnes, a college student from Lexington, Ky., has sued the Nashville saloon in federal court, claiming the nightspot's employees should have done more to prevent her tumble from its slippery bar last year.

Barnes' attorney, Rob Shelton, said the University of Kentucky student sustained an irreversible head injury when she fell off a slippery bar during a night on the town in Nashville last September. She is suing the company that runs the Coyote Ugly Saloon — famous for its sexy bar-dancing staff — for $500,000.

"They have a duty under Tennessee law to provide a safe place for their patrons," Shelton said.

If the business is going to invite people to dance on the bar then, Shelton says, "It should be kept dry just like the floor of the bar or the aisle in a grocery store."

I say, don't try to be cute, get up on the bar, fall and get mad cause e'erbody laughed at you! I'll give you $500 just to see you fall again!

THE FLU CONTINUES ITS PATH THROUGH TENNESSEE

School officials said the school will be closed Thursday and Friday because of a high number of student absences. Wednesday's attendance report showed more than 25 percent of CHS students were out of school.

BOBBY BROWN: Goes Behind the Music Tonight

V-H-1's Behind the Music: Bobby Brown premieres tonight on the cable channel at 10:00 p-m [ET]. During the hour-long episode, Brown discusses his career, family and very public struggles with addiction. He says, "I think anybody out there suffering with addiction or diseases...you have to believe in yourself and believe that you're worth it." Brown adds that of all the pot-shots the media has taken at him over the years, the one that hit closest to home was making "me look like I was a bad father. I take pride in raising my kids. I take pride in being their friend and being there for them at any time when they need me. I think that was the worst thing that was ever said about me -- that I'm a deadbeat dad and things like that. I'm far from that."

LIL BOOSIE'S BAD ASS IS GOING TO JAIL

Torrence Hatch -- better known as rapper Lil' Boosie -- pleaded guilty this week to drug and weapons charges in Louisiana and will serve at least a year in jail. Last fall, sheriff's deputies seized a bag of marijuana, a cigar containing the drug and a gun from a car driven by Hatch. He'll be sentencedNovember 9th.

Though some believe having a black president indicates a post-racial America, a group of lawmakers say President Obama's election has actually brought on a resurgence in racism. African-American congressmen attending this week's Congressional Black Caucus conference in Washington cited the anti-tax "tea parties" and raucous opposition to Obama's healthcare reform. Representative Hank Johnson of Georgia says Congressman Joe Wilson's "You Lie" outburst during Obama's address earlier this month could signal "folks putting on white hoods and white uniforms again, riding through the countryside." Representative Jim Clyburn of South Carolina says the economic downturn is helping non-Obama-supporters exploit racial tensions for their own goals. He tells Politico.com, "One thing it shows us is that we don't live in a post-racial society."

The Memphis Mayor keeps in HOOD with the Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama made a brief stop in Memphis on Tuesday where he was greeted by Mayor Myron Lowery, who taught his holiness how to give a fist-bump and then told him how he's always wanted to say "Hello Dolly" to him. It was probably one of the most ridiculous encounters the Dalai Lama has ever had, but everyone got a good laugh.

Damn Memphis: Even Yall Mayor is HOOD Wit It...Please don't corrupt the Dalai Lama by giving him a copy of Yo Gotti's "Five Star Chick"...Oh Boy!!!
