  • The last time Nashville Ballet performed Swan Lake was in 2010.
  • Swan Lake is one of the most well-known and beloved ballets in the world.
  • For this year’s production, company dancers Kayla Rowser and Sadie Bo Sommer will share the lead role of Odette/Odile (the White Swan/Black Swan).
  • Kayla will dance at the matinee performances; Sadie at the evening performances.
  • This is the second time Sadie will be performing this role; it is Kayla’s first time dancing Odette/Odile.
  • The role of Odette/Odile is performed by one dancer and is one of the most difficult, respected and coveted roles in the ballet world. It’s the role on every ballerina’s “bucket list.”
  • Kayla Rowser is the first African American dancer to be cast in the lead role in Swan Lake at Nashville Ballet.
