BET HIP-HOP AWARDS: DJ Mustard's Big Night/Murda Mook Slays "The Cypher"

DJ Mustard was the big winner at Tuesday night's BET Hip-Hop Awards, grabbing three awards -- DJ of the Year, MVP and Producer of the Year. His track "My Hitta" featuring YG, Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan also won Best Collab. 

Among the highlights of the show were Common, Jay Electronica and Vince Staples taking the stage with Mike Brown's parents for a moment of silence for the slain teen. 

More upbeat highlights included TI and Young Thug performing "About the Money," and Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Yo-Yo joining Brandy for the "I Wanna Be Down" remix. The show's closing number, which brought the crowd to their feet, featured Bobby Shmurda bringing out Lil' Terio to do the "Shmoney Dance" during "Hot [N-word]."

For the eagerly anticipated cypher, the highlight for many was battle rapper Murda Mook taking a shot at Drake. Rhyming over Drake's "0-100," his quotable lines featured: "King of battle rap, comfortable in first place/ Here, finish line is all mine, heard Drake?/ How you flashbackin’ to actin’, it’s real here/ Cripple your career, put it back in a wheelchair/ Get killed here/ Ain’t no chill here/ My demeanor/ Don’t play the field here/ De-gras-si, it ain’t greener.”
