Teacher Asks Students To Write A Suicide Note For Homework????

A New York private school teacher is getting a lot of flack for giving her kids a controversial assignment.

The English teacher had her 14-year-old students write suicide notes from the point of view of a character from The Secret Life of Bees, which the students were reading.  Some think parents should have had a heads up on such an assignment and even have had the right to refuse it.

But others think parents we're making a big deal out of nothing and should let the teachers teach what they want. (Jezebel)
