SPLITSVILLE: Schwarzenegger, Shriver Announce Separation (Video)

The marriage of California's former first couple appears to be terminated.

Former governor and Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger and political mover-and-shaker Maria Shriver have split after 25 years of marriage. Shriver, a member of the Kennedy family, has moved out of their Brentwood, California mansion while they decide their next moves.

Although the couple has been living apart for the last few weeks, they only confirmed the separation last night in a joint statement after the Los Angeles Times began asking questions.

Shriver hinted at the split in a video posted on YouTube on March 28th in which she said, "It is so stressful to not know what you're doing next. I'd like to hear from other people in transition. How did you get through it? What were the things that enable you to get through your transition?" She appeared in the clip without her wedding ring.

Arnold, meanwhile, plans on returning to Hollywood and his already signed on for three films, including the latest chapter in the Terminator series.
