South Nashville Waffle House robbed at gunpoint

Metro police are searching for a masked gunman who they say robbed a South Nashville Waffle House overnight and made off with cash.

No one was injured in the armed robbery, a police captain said.

The incident took place early Tuesday at the restaurant in the 4300 block of Sidco Drive, just north of Harding Place, Capt. Gregory Blair said.

A suspect entered the business, he said, demanding money at gunpoint and then fled on foot.

Police are reviewing video surveillance from the business and Blair said the armed robbery remains under investigation.

A complete description of the suspect was not available.
