Right To Bear Arms....Except Blacks and Latino

Many Americans are adamant about their right to bear arms, but a new gun law in Illinois would affectively curb that right for black and Latino citizens.

  • The bill moving through the Illinois General Assembly would prohibit any person or business from selling a firearm to a so-called "street gang member," even if the person has passed a Brady Law F-B-I background check. Making such a sale would result in Class One felony charges and possible jail time for the seller.
  • Illinois State Rifle Association exec Richard Pearson says, "[This bill] promotes racial profiling at its worst. Popular culture has branded urban minorities with the 'gangsta' stereotype."

Not surprising. And in the state from which our President, a black man, hails. But, if you will, think back to the crack epidemic. It wasn't considered a real issue until white people started becoming crack addicts. As long as it was in the black community, destroying black lives, it was just considered a black problem.
