"Rape" Tweets Makes Cee Lo Lose His Reality Show and 2 Concerts

Not only has the TBS Network cancelled Cee-Lo’s show The Good Life after a woman’s group circulated a petition calling for the cancellation because of his rape tweets last week. But he has now been dropped from 2 concerts.

The LA Times report that:

Green was pulled from the U.S. Navy-sponsored Freedom Live concert, scheduled for Sept. 20 in Washington, D.C., and the Gretna Heritage Festival in Louisiana.

Organizers for the three-day festival in Gretna, La., announced Green’s Oct. 5 performance would be canceled “as he does not represent the festival's wholesome family environment,” organizers said in a Facebook post on Friday. Instead, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will fill his headlining slot.

A replacement for the Freedom Live show, which Little Big Town will headline, has yet to be announced.

Navy officials issued a lengthy statement admonishing Green. Refunds for those who purchased tickets specifically to see Green will be offered, officials said.

“We seek a Department-wide culture of gender dignity and respect where sexual assault is completely eliminated and never tolerated, where sexual assault victims receive compassionate and coordinated support, and where offenders are held appropriately accountable,” the statement said. “Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable.”
