Hotel Says NFL Never Asked To View Tape In Ray Rice Investigation

The NFL is getting a lot of heat for fumbling the ball in their Ray Rice investigation and claiming to have never seen the incriminating video of Rice knocking out his then-fiancee until yesterday. The league says it had asked for the video before handing down their punishment, but never received it. Others tell a different story.

Employees who worked at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, which recently closed down, tell TMZ that the NFL never requested the video, and if they had they would have gotten it. The police and Rice's attorney had the video. The NFL claims it requested the video from the police but weren't given it because the case was still pending. A lot of people aren't buying it saying the league could have done what TMZ did and just ask the hotel for the tape. So when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell initially handed down his slap-on-the-wrist two-game suspension, he did so based solely on the verbal account of what happened. The NFL is now under fire for not doing enough on dealing with domestic violence cases. (TMZ)
