Not everyone is excited for Ozone magazine founder Julia Beverly's biography of the late Pimp C. His widow, Chinara Butler, is trying to keep it from ever getting published.

Beverly says she's been working on the book, titled Sweet Jones: Pimp C's Trill Life Story, for four years, with the blessing of Pimp's mother Weslyn Monroe and other family members. She claims that she collaborated with the MC -- who died in 2007 -- on numerous projects, and that they were friends. Beverly tells AllHipHop that she conducted 40 hours of interviews with Monroe, who "entrusted me with telling her son’s story accurately and honestly."

But following Monroe's death last year, Chinara has denounced the book pretty much everywhere she can, including social media. Earlier this week, she released a statement saying, “We are working tirelessly to protect and manage the legacy my late husband built, and this book is counterproductive to our goals."

Angela Crooks, the mother of Pimp C’s two sons, totally supports the project.

Sweet Jones: Pimp C's Trill Story is set for release in early 2015.

The Quickies:

*  Disagreements will always happen whenever someone is dead, especially when there's money at stake.

*  Chinara doesn't really have a legal leg to stand on. She's just hoping to put enough public pressure on the publisher to kill the book.

*  Bun B's wife is calling out Beverly, too. Makes you wonder if they have their own deal in the works.
