Oprah is a few millions short when it comes to being the richest Black woman in the world.

According to Time magazine, Nigerian native Folorunsho Alakija, is the new chart topper. The oil baroness and fashionista is worth at least $3.3 billion -- that's almost $300 million more than the famous talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist.

The 62-year-old moved to England in the early 1980s to study fashion design and later returned to Africa where she started a high end fashion label she dubbed Supreme Stitches. Her fashion line did well but a great portion of her wealth comes from an oil-exploration license granted to her company in 1993. Her family now owns a lucrative oil company in which they retain a 60% stake.

Ventures Africa reports that Alakija assets include a real estate portfolio worth over $100 million and a $46 million private jet.
