NYPD: Under Investigation for Throwing Pregnant Woman to the Ground - VIDEO

An investigation has been launched after a bystander's cellphone video captured the brutal arrest of a woman who is five months pregnant.

Sandra Amezquita is shown in the clip falling belly first onto the street as officers force her to the ground and handcuff her hands behind her back. The incident happened during an early morning episode in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood, which is also known as "Little Latin America" due to its large Latino population.

According to reports, Amerzquita suffered vaginal bleeding and had bruises on her belly and arms following the arrest. She told The New York Daily News, "I was afraid something happened to my baby. I am still afraid that something is wrong."
