There's more trouble for the NFL. While the league continues to grapple with the issue of how to deal with domestic violence, another player has been hit with assault charges.
Wednesday evening the Arizona Cardinals revealed that running back Jonathan Dwyer has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault and also for preventing a person from calling 911.
The Cardinals said that they only found out about the allegations on Wednesday afternoon and have since deactivated Dwyer from the team.
The charges relate to two incidents that allegedly happened at his house in late July.
Dwyer was booked into Maricopa County Jail Wednesday on a count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, a count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage and a count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency.
