Two weeks after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated Nepal, the nation has been rocked a second time. The United States Geological Survey stated this morning’s quake registered at 7.3 magnitude.
A correspondent for the BBC reported (quote) “The earth shook and it shook for a pretty long time. I can completely understand the sense of panic. We have been seeing tremors, but this one really felt like it went on for a really long time. People have been terrified.”
The epicenter is near Mount Everest, with aftershocks felt throughout the region.
The first quake killed more than 8000 people, including scores on the world’s tallest mountain.
