JOHN SINGLETON: Why He Left Tupac Bio-pic

Earlier this week we reported that John Singleton was replaced by Carl Franklin as the director of the upcoming Tupac Shakur bio-pic. Now Singleton is explaining his decision.

The director of 2 Fast 2 Furious and Boyz n the Hood took to Instagram to give his side of the story. He writes, "The reason I am not making this picture is because the people involved aren't really respectful of the legacy of Tupac Amaru Shakur. To Pac's real fans: just know I am still planning a movie on Tupac...It doesn't matter what they do, mines will be better. How you gonna make a movie about a man when you suing his mother to get the rights to tell his story?! They have no love [for] Pac so this movie will not be made with love!"

       Singleton stood up for his morals on the matter while shaming those behind the flick. Two birds with one stone right there.

    The explanation sounds like the tip of an iceberg, but then nothing in Hollyweird is ever simple.
