A billboard in Newark, New Jersey for T-I's Akoo jeans is causing a stir. It depicts a black woman tugging down on a man's pants as she's kneeling before him, suggesting the act of oral sex.

James Sawhill, a Rutgers-Newark marketing professor, says, "I'm so sick of people seeing Newark as a place where they can do whatever they want. They think they can put [such a billboard] in a black community and nobody is going to say or do anything."

Newark mayor Cory Booker says he intends to "work with my city council to see if we can address it."

Akoo has released a statement saying, "The Akoo brand has always aimed to inspire individualism and creativity. Our advertising campaign was not created to offend or insult anyone but to simply provoke dialogue and thought regarding male-female sexuality within urban culture. We hope that as more of the campaign is debuted, people will see the multi-faceted personality of Akoo."

Photography is an art form. As any art it will always be something different to whomever is looking at it. If you choose to see the negative you will. I would not have viewed the picture as being sexually explicit if that had not been brought to my attention. I can also see where the young lady could be very atracted to the jeans and is willing to take the off the body that they belong to in order to have them. They are many ways you can view this add besides sexual!
