(AP) ASHBURN, Va. - The Washington Redskins are going to try to get their $21 million back from absentee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
An official within the league with knowledge of the deliberations told The Associated Press that the Redskins are going to examine Haynesworth's contract to see if they can recoup some or all of the bonus they paid him on April 1.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because coach Mike Shanahan has declined to make the team's plans public.
Haynesworth was a no-show for the Redskins mandatory minicamp Wednesday. He is unhappy with the team's switch to a 3-4 defense.
Teammates called his actions "selfish."
ESPN.com first reported that the team will seek a return of the bonus.

I think they should take it back. He has not earned it. There are so many things that I do not like at my job but I adjust and keep it moving. If I was getting that type of money as a bonus. They could run a 1-2 defense, 3-4 defense, 5-6 defense and I would adjust and do what I had to do. He is not that good anymore to try and set demands. GET OVER IT! He needs to be focusing on if that girl in Miami is pregnant with his child.

I don't think that they should be able to take back a bonus, but I do feel that they should be able to fire his fat butt and cancel out the rest of his contract. He obviously thinks that he makes the team what they are and they can't win without him considering they aren't winning with him!!!!!! LMAO.

I don't like alot of things that I have to put up with on my job, and my bonus (if that is what you want to call it)wouldn't even pay for a night at the casino.

They should take it back. He's done nothing to earned it..I'm tired of these highly, ridiculously paid sports players not earning their keep. He's immature, spoiled, baby. I hope they sue the you know what out of him.
