How Many N-Words Can A Rapper Use In A Song...Ask Chuck D of Public Enemy

Chuck D isn't on board with Suge Knight's claim that he'd rather be called the N-word than African-American.

Chuck says that though African-American isn't a perfect term -- since it could be applied to a white person who was raised in Africa -- it's much better than the alternative. He tells TMZ, "Being called black in America is the struggle to keep us moving and breathing over bloody water. Being a [N-word] without the context of history is like drowning in bloody water, dragging down those yet knowing to swim."

Chuck also calls out rappers who use the term in their music. He says they shouldn't drop it "more than three times a song. It's lazy. Especially when out of context."
