Hero Dad Wears Skirts to Support His Skirt-Wearing Son

This really takes being a supportive dad to a whole new level — a father in Germany started wearing skirts so that his son would feel comfortable doing it to in front of classmates after moving to a new town. Bravo, sir.

When they lived in West Berlin Pickert’s son wore skirts frequently, and so he did too in support. But after moving to a small, very religious town in South Germany, Pickert forgot in the stress of moving and his son clammed up after a few days of school.

After Pickert’s son asked him when he was going to wear a skirt again, he decided to man up by putting one on. Apparently one lady stared so hard she walked face-first into a pole, and the kid thought it was so funny that he now wears skirts whenever he wants.

“I didn’t want to talk my son into not wearing dresses and skirts,” Pickert told EMMA magazine. “He didn’t make friends in doing that in Berlin already and after a lot of contemplation I had only one option left: To broaden my shoulders for my little buddy and dress in a skirt myself.”

Now his child is even painting his own fingernails, and naturally Pickert’s as well. Isn’t that what being an incredible dad is all about — doing things you’d really rather not to make your kids happy.
