Everyone's still talking about Clint Eastwood's bizarre speech last week at the Republican National Convention. A recent poll reveals that it didn't go over well with voters, but those same voters still like Clint.
According to a survey by an organization called Public Policy Polling, 41 percent of voters in Florida had a negative option of Eastwood's 12-minute rambling speech. In North Carolina, 44 percent of voters found Clint's speech -- which included a segment in which he mixed it up with an invisible President Obamaportrayed by an empty chair -- in poor taste. By comparison, 36 percent of voters in both states have a favorable opinion of Clint's speech.
Yet those same voters still like Clint. In Florida, 72 percent still have a favorable opinion of him, compared to 11 percent that think negatively about him. In North Carolina, 71 percent still think favorable of Clint, while 14 percent have a negative view of him.
Even Obama seems to still like the veteran actor. "I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan," the president to USA Today. "He is a great actor, and an even better director. I think the last few movies that he's made have been terrific." Obama also said he wasn't offended by Clint's speech, adding, "One thing about being president or running for president -- if you're easily offended, you should probably choose another profession."
