Goodlettsville advances to World Series championship game

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -

The Goodlettsville All Stars rallied from two deficits to beat Texas 4-3 and advance to the United States Championship Game at the Little League World Series Wednesday night.

Jordan Brown and Brock Myers hit back-to-back homers in the third to give Tennessee a 2-1 lead in the third.

Texas scored two in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead and put Tennessee just three outs away from having to play again on Thursday.

The Middle Tennessee team managed two runs in the top of the sixth to rally for the win.

The boys from Goodlettsville will either play against California or Texas Saturday.

The Goodlettsville All Stars have already defeated both teams in the World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Hundreds of miles away, many Goodlettsville residents packed Moss-Wright Park to cheer on the hometown game during an outdoor watch party.

"We're dedicated, dedicated people out here in Goodlettsville. It shows in the kids," resident Edward Wiley said. "Best thing about Goodlettsville baseball is their dedication."

He added, "The kids are great, and it all starts with coaching. The coaches are great."

Many fans who spoke with Nashville's News 2 said the team has the talent to win the World Series.

"That would be awesome. They'll come home and we'll be really excited for them," Hayden Lane said.

Baseball fan, Raymond Bois added, "Them boys will be famous!"

Saturday's game will air on Nashville's News 2 at 2:30 p.m
