EMINEM: First Artist to Get Two Digital Diamond Awards

Eminem is officially the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards, for sales of 10 million.

The rap legend had already gone diamond with his hit albums The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show. This week, the RIAA celebrated Em's Digital Diamond certification for the single “Not Afraid,” Previously, his hit “Love The Way You Lie” also achieved the sales status, making him the first artist to have two digital singles sell more than 10 million copies.

When the sales benchmarks were first reached last year, RIAA Chairman and CEO Cary Sherman said in a statement, "We are delighted to recognize Eminem as the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards. This singular achievement -- earning a Diamond Award on two separate digital songs -- is unparalleled and we congratulate him on forever etching a mark in Gold and Platinum Program history."

Say What:

He reached the sales benchmark last summer, but doesn’t seem to have actually received his award until this week.

Love him or hate him, he’s one of the most successful artists — off all time!

When he was putting out the Slim Shady LP did you ever think he’d stick around this long?

You don’t get the kind of Eminem longevity has without knowing how to make hits.
