In his first network TV interview since becoming president, Donald Trump fielded questions from ABC's David Muir on such topics as immigration, his planned border wall, voter fraud and torture. During the hour-long special, Trump mostly stuck to issues he hammered home during his campaign. He continued to say that he would construct a border wall, but now he admitted that Mexico won't pay for it -- at least initially. He said U.S. taxpayers will finance the wall, but he promised that "we will be in a form reimbursed by Mexico." As for his unproven claims about voter fraud, Trump said that an investigation will be launched because "if you look at voter registration, you look at the dead people that are registered to vote who vote, you look at people that are registered in two states, you look at all of these different things that are happening with registration." In other parts of the interview, Trump said torture "absolutely" works, claimed the media tried "to to demean me unfairly" with its inauguration coverage and all the networks aside from Fox News covered his CIA speech "very inaccurately." * There are reports that White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, Trump's treasury secretary nominee Steven Mnuchin and his daughter Tiffany were registered to vote in two states STORY
Michele says agreeing to perform for President Trump had major consequences. She says the decision even caused her loved ones to turn their backs.
Chrisette tells Billboard that she spoke to an event organizer and said point blank, “My family has disowned me… If you decide to Google me, you’ll see that America is writing about me in their newspapers. I'm the black poster child for discord right now and he’s not going to shake my hand? So no, I didn’t get to meet him.”
School board Chair Anna Sephard has since spoken to Fox 17 News, saying she spoke to Buggs over the weekend and Buggs now says she should not have used her school twitter handle to make the comments. Sephard promises it will not happen again.
Other members of the board came to Buggs’ defense. Will Pinkston, Nashville School Board member Representing District 7 told Fox 17 News people are free to speak their minds.
It’s insane the way Trump and his supporters try to repress the media and other critics from speaking the truth, when they were extremely outspoken (and wrong and hateful) during the previous Presidency.
Let’s all show our support for Christiane Buggs!
