Die-Hard Fan Dies After Watching 11 Straight Nights of Soccer

Soccer is famous for spawning obsessive fans, but one literally died after 11 sleepless nights watching every game of the Euro 2012 tournament from China. Because of the time difference, all of the European games air in the middle of the night in China.

On June 19th, Jiang Xiaoshan took in his last match: he reportedly watched Italy defeat the Republic of Ireland with his friends, went home, went to sleep and never woke up, Fox News reports.

Sources say the "relatively healthy" 26-year-old succumbed to "the combined effects of alcohol, tobacco and sleep deprivation."
