CHARLIE WILSON, GAP BAND: Father Passes

Bishop Oscar W. Wilson -- father of The Gap Band's Charlie, Ronnie and Robert Wilson -- passed away this Monday from complications from prostate cancer. He was 91. Charlie Wilson, who's in remission from prostate cancer himself and a spokesperson for the Prostate Cancer Foundation, says, "My father was an incredible man who had a profound effect on our family both as a father and a spiritual guide. I made a commitment to spread the word about prostate cancer, and with the passing of my dad, that commitment is even stronger."

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Lucedale, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at UncleCharlieWilson.com.
