In a brief phone interview with the New York Post on Friday, the comedian urged the media to remain "neutral" while covering his sexual assault scandal. He said, "Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind."
Asked how his wife Camille is holding up, Cosby said, "Love and the strength of womanhood. Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love."
Cosby, who the newspaper described as sounding “upbeat” during the conversation, declined to talk about the rape allegations from more than 20 women, which now includes supermodel Beverly Johnson.
