The dating App Hinge tested over 100 opening lines and – supposedly – found the lines that worked the best.

Users between the ages of 18 and 23 had the best luck with “novelty” opening lines, such as: “You’re having your portrait painted. What’s your backdrop?”

Between the ages of 24 and 28, lifestyle lines work best. Consider … “Better adventure: rock climbing or scuba diving?”

Personal lines work best once you get to the ages of 29 to 34. “Two truths and a lie. Ready. Set. Go.”

And, surprisingly, once you’re 35 and older, the most effective lines deal with pop culture, such as: “Katy Perry or Taylor Swift?”

But then again … If you’re 35+ and you’re still banging around on hook-up apps, there are a lot of issues at play here. (Vox)
