BALTIMORE POLICE CUSTODY DEATH: Justice Department Launches Probe as Protests Grow

The same day that the Justice Department announced it will investigate the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who died in police custody after suffering a spinal-cord injury, thousands of protesters filled the streets of Baltimore.

It was an all-too-familiar scene as protesters carried signs that read "Black Lives Matter" and "No Justice, No Peace" to demonstrate the latest case of what appears to be an unjustified use of excessive force by police on a black man.

The 25-year-old Gray was arrested on April 12th after allegedly making "eye contact" with police and another man in a area known for drug trafficking. After he was handcuffed in back of a transport van, Gray allegedly became "irate," so police pulled over during the 30-minute ride and shackled his legs.

On Sunday, a week after his arrest, Gray died of what police called "a significant spinal injury." (CBS News)

Saaay Whaaat:

It's good the Justice Department decided to get involved so quickly.

It seems these stories just keep repeating themselves.

Hopefully, the truth will be revealed and justice will be served.
