Are The 11 Students Expelled For Smoking Weed At Hunters Lane High School Victims of Racism or Fairly Punished???

A friend of mine was talking to me about the Hunters Lane Football Player incident. In case you hadn't heard, 11 Football Players were caught smoking weed (allegedly) and they ALL were suspended/expelled under the Zero Tolerance Policy. The NAACP is now representing 7 of the boys saying that Zero Tolerance targets Black Males. ((Blank Stares)) I don't get that one. Am I missing something? Is this a Racism Case?

How can you expell chidlren from school under the zero tolerence rule in this case when the boys were not caught smoking?????? (BLANK STARE)....the princial Dr. Susan Kessler lied to all of them and told them they were on tape smoking, when she did not have them on tape. Not only did she lie to these children, she bullied them, by twisting their words and keeping them in her office until she got what she wanted out of these children, which was signing a statement saying that they smoked weed. These children felt pressured, and bullied by their superior figure..... Why are we as a community, so quick to throw the book at our black children, especially males, and write them off.. Had these chidlren been white, and no proof, this would be a total different story. If these children are going to be expelled for the rest of the year, there needs to be solid proof, not based on "he say she say." If these boys were caught smoking weed, yes they should have been expelled. But they were not. So not only is this a case of racism, its a case of denying black chidlren their education, unfairness, unjust, and the abuse of an authority figure within the Metro Nashville School district.

Kids these days have got to be held accountable for their wrong doings. This is simply another case of parents condoning their kids bad behavior. These boys were doing drugs, on school property and that alone was a zero tolerance issue and a crime to have drugs on school property in the first place. To think that racism was involved is rediculous. I get so tired of kids being allowed to misbehave and then glorifying them as if they are the victims. The punishment was just, and to have the NAACP involved is even more ridiculous. This is not a civil rights issue!!

First of all, the kids were not caught smoking marijuana by anyone NOR were they caught having drugs in their possession. More importantly they were not even caught on film. They had ZERO evidence and still questioned those children and pressured those children into confessions and ultimately expelled them. So you tell me, would you like for your child to be expelled without any physical or visual evidence, only hearsay. Their principal is known for biased behavior. She worked in Williamson County prior to Davidson County schools at which time parents petitioned for her to be removed and she resigned. So don't be too quick to say the race card has gotten way out of hand when you don't know all the facts.

Pulling the race card has gotten way out of hand! It is stated CLEARLY that schools are a no drug zone. The young men were using narcotics on the school grounds and the punishment was justly given. At some point we have to stop using the 'black male' reason to get out of everything!

No, this is not a case of racism. I personally think these children, whether black or white, should not have been smoking weed or allegedly smoking weed at all period, especially on school grounds. NO DRUGS OF ANY KIND ON SCHOOL GROUNDS is the RULE for Metro Schools period. Those children know this!!! I'm sorry that they are being expelled from school, but this is the punishment they have to suffer from their immature actions. Some of them may have had promising college football scholarships and football careers ahead of them, but they can't blame anyone but themselves. Zero tolerance targets all children--blacks, whites, mexicans, spanish, asians, and all other nationalities that we have in the Nashville community.
