Sometimes even the best co-workers can be more of a challenge than an asset. CareerBuilder-dot-com has some ideas to keep in mind when dealing with your co-workers:

Stay on message. When a chatty or disruptive co-worker tries to distract you from your work, politely remind her you don't have time to talk.

Strike a balance. We all have co-workers we like more than others, but try to balance your time and attention with all your colleagues.

Remain focused. With all the technology we have now, it's easy to chat with co-workers while you're working. It may be fun, but you need to stay focused on your job.

Set boundaries. Working with a good friend is a good thing, but you must set boundaries and respect her. Leave detailed personal conversations outside of work.
